About Marcia Winslow

Marcia Winslow was a product of the Vietnam war. Her father, who was in the US Air Force met, fell in love and married her Vietnamese mother and brought her to the US in 1968. She was born smack in the middle of 7 siblings and grew up knowing that home is where the heart is.

She fell in love with music as a teen, listening to bands like Depeche Mode, The Cure, Journey, Blondie, Boston, Prince, Michael Jackson, Fleetwood Mac,Yes and whatever music she had exposure to. She sang in church choir, chorus & show chorus to feed her passion while dreaming of what it would look like to follow her passion.

She joined her first alternate rock band called “The Wedding “ a local band from Mt Dora, Florida at 16. She was young and easily discouraged by the normal criticism of people She held in high regard, so she gave up chasing her dream and surrendered to normalcy.

Fast forward -Marcia was always haunted by the fact that she gave up on something she loved doing because of all the reasons we prevent ourselves from succeeding. 4 amazing children later and a bitter divorce reminded her to live by example of following her own passion.

She became involved in several projects, “Yasgars Farm”, “Everyday People, “Essence”, Marc Vee Band, & “Keeps on Turning” until she had an opportunity to run a corporate band called, “Winslow & the Rockefellers”.
The band went through several different members and during a member transition, she walked into Naples Park Music in the Fall of 2016 and ran into Matt Benfield, who was looking for a band to join. Matt and Marcia quickly became friends and band mates. Matt later introduced to her Jeffrey James, who was in a former project with him. Jeffrey was the perfect addition to the project.

The band built up a great reputation with some amazingly talented musicians adding Charles Camisa Jr on drums and lasted until COVID. It put a screeching halt to Winslow and the Rockefellers.

Marcia , Matt & Jeffrey continued to write & create music together during COVID months and worked at local bars & venues. They formed the original project, “Moonstone Riders”, adding back Charles Camisa Jr. and also Matt Baxley who currently reside in Southwest Florida.

They embarked on a national tour in summer of 2022 performing Chicago, Elmhurst IL, Ingleside IL, Park Ridge IL, Harsens Island MI, Crown Pointe IN, Evansville IN, Newburgh IN, Medina OH, Stratford CT, Fairfield CT, Baldwin MD, & Denville NJ.
